ART129: Videos #1 - Driving Concepts

These are excersises that are performed by teenagers at the Driving Concepts Teen Driving Clinics that teach the teenagers what to expect from their vehicle in an emergency and how to respond while building confidence in their abilities as drivers. ART129: Project #3 - Blog

Well... this is awkward... For Project #3 we had to create a blog and post a few things about the class. The purpose of a blog is to disseminate information, document things of interest to ones self, and to share experiences and opinions. Some things typical of a blog is the format of the content, often a blog will feature a large portion of photos, video, and sound to a relatively small or equal part of written word. The blog lends itself well to daily posting, because of the simplicity of posting. You can post from you cell phone, or your computer, making the act of posting to a blog very convenient. A blog is typically an easy read, making the act of following a blog rather enjoyable.

ART129 Photoshop for the Web

You may be wondering what Art129 is, so here is a little more about this Art129 thing. Art129 or Graphic Design Concepts for the Web is a class that teaches the fundamentals of the Photoshop and ImageReady for use in web design. Here is a quote directly from the course schedule,

ART129, Graphic Design Concepts for the Web       3 Units
Introduction to Web design. Includes learning technical aspects, file optimization, effects, images, slicing, links, rollovers, and applying the elements and priciples of design. Includes creative Web design projects. Photoshop skills highly recommended. (Same as Computer Science 155.)

ART129: Project #2 - Web Gallery

For Project #2 we had to optimize our photos, and use the export to web gallery in photoshop to make three different style galleries. Here are mine. They may take a while to load because my upload rate is rather limited. Here are thumbnails and links to each gallery.

ART129: Project #1 - Photo Editing

Here are a few before and after shots of the photo touch-ups we did for Project #1. These will go into our Web Galleries later in the semester.

ART129: Research Paper #1: Color

For Research Paper #1 on Color, I chose the gaming portal and shopping site, steampowered.com. This site has a very organized feel to it, everything has a place and nothing is out of place. The colors are very neutral and almost have an industrial/military feel to them. The layout and color coordination make it very easy to tell where you are at any given moment. Each major section of the site has a complimentary sub-color scheme.

ART129: Welcome

Welcome to my personal blog. While this blog may initially be for my Art129 class, perhaps it will grow into something much greater. But only time will tell.

New! WoW Patch 1.5.0

Today Blizzard released the 'Battlefields' patch which included the the addition of the PvP Battlefields, a place where players can get together with equal numbers of Horde and Alliance teams around the same level. The players duel and try to take the opposing teams flag before they do. Players also gain honor points while in the Battlegrounds.
